Volunteering

Upon graduation, each certified canine therapy team is assigned a location to volunteer. Placement is determined based on the temperament of the dog, the expressed desires of the handler and the needs of the facilities in which Shadowlee operates. New therapy teams are shadowed by trainers on their initial visit(s) to ensure a successful transition and placement. If needed ongoing support for the team is provided and a change in placement may be necessary.

Upon graduation all dogs and their handlers are certified, insured and placed in a facility that best fits the team’s strengths and preferences. 

 

We initiate and supervise all programs in schools, hospitals and nursing and veteran facilities.
